4-star hotel near Piazza Tasso in Sorrento center

A pleasant walk takes us to Piazza Tasso, Sorrento's elegant living room, famous for its statue of St. Antonino, the city's patron saint.
The Piazza opens onto one of the three valleys that surrounded the city and offers a striking view of the gorge traversed by the narrow road leading to Marina Piccola.
The square is named after the poet Torquato Tasso, who was born here in 1544, and who is also honored with a monument dedicated to him, created by Gennaro Calì and also present in the same square.
Sites of relevant historical and artistic interest include the Art Nouveau-style Vittoria Hotel.
Once called Largo del Castello because of the 15th-century Aragonese mansion, Piazza Tasso had a distinctly different appearance in the past than it does today. The urban reorganization of the city, the demolition of the castle in 1843 and the elimination of the curtain wall gave us Badger Square as we know it today.

Also in Tasso Square we can admire Casa Correale, or Palazzo Correale, dating back to the 14th century and rich in architectural and sculptural elements of the Catalan school.
The building belonged to the Correale family until the 17th century and then was transformed into an orphanage named after Santa Maria della Pietà. The building is along Via Pietà, where we also find other important architectural works, such as Palazzo Veniero, the Loggia di Vico Galantario, a Baroque church.
